The success story of VOLKER LANG accessories began as early as 1983. After studying fashion design in the Hanseatic city, Volker Lang founded the small, individual department store for fashion, design and home accessories, the KAUFRAUSCH, with some friendly creatives and business people. Here he designed and sewed his first leather bag. That was the beginning of a great passion.

His collections inspire season after season: clear shapes, functional look - puristic, but also playful in detail. "The things I do should stand for themselves and support the person who wears them in their appearance," emphasizes the designer.

Even after years of use, his bags and accessories are timeless objects that evade the dictates of fashion. Not infrequently, a VOLKER LANG wallet accompanies its owner for many years and is only replaced with a heavy heart by a new VOLKER LANG model when it has been lost or stolen - or after many years of use it can no longer be saved by the in-house workshop.

The VOLKER LANG style and high quality are now known far beyond Germany and find more and more customers in New York, London and Paris - and of course still in the beautiful headquarters in Hamburg. Since 2018 there has also been a VOLKER LANG branch at the Domshof in Bremen. The company headquarters has been in Aachen since the mid-90s.

An important element of the company philosophy is the appreciation of selected materials, the handcrafted production in traditional delicatessen companies and constant quality. In the 2016 collection, robust cowhide, shiny aniline leather, soft suede and calf leather with different embossings are processed. An integral part of the collection is also a waxed and hand-tumbled saddle leather, which is tanned in a purely vegetable manner. The leather comes from traditional tanneries in Italy and Austria. Fine goat leather and soft lamb nappa are used as lining leather.
